GOSPEL
A – Admit You are a Sinner
- Because Adam, the first created person, sinned, every person is born with a sinful nature.
- Our sinful nature is evidenced throughout our lives by sinful choices.
- Our sin separates us from the perfect, sinless, holy God.
B – Believe in Jesus
- Believe Jesus is the virgin born Son of God because Jesus had no human father, he was born without a sinful nature.
- Believe Jesus who is eternal also became human to live a sinless life and sacrifice that life as a ransom for us sinful people.
- Believe Jesus died on the cross, was buried in the tomb and was raised to life on the 3rd day.
C – Confess Jesus as Savior and Lord
- Confess you need a Savior to rescue you from your sin.
- Confess Jesus is Lord. There is no one greater, and He is the One you will fully follow imitating Him in all His ways.
Through the ABCs, you will experience salvation, renewal and genuine joy.
BAPTISM
Every person who has placed their faith in Jesus as their Savior and Lord is called to imitate Jesus by being baptized through immersion. While salvation is private and personal between you and the Lord, baptism is going public with your faith. Baptism symbolizes that we have died to our former sinful life and are now renewed and alive in Christ.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Truth: We believe the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God. Every word is God-breathed and true.
One God: We believe in a personal God. God is one, yet exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ: We believe in Jesus who is the virgin born Son of God. Jesus, fully God and fully man, became the God-Man to redeem mankind. He died for our sins, rose from the dead, and offers us new life.
New Life: We believe that Jesus’ death and resurrection was sufficient for the forgiveness of sin. Through personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and asking for forgiveness of sins, we receive salvation, becoming children of God, assured of eternal life.
Indwelling Power: We believe that life on earth is to be lived in the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit indwells believers, empowering them to live godly lives and bear spiritual fruit.
Jesus is the Hope for the World: We believe Jesus bought the Church with his blood. Jesus went all in for the Church. All who have placed their faith in Jesus are knit together in one Body, the Church. The church is the body of believers, led by Christ, who are called by Him and gifted by Him to live for Him.
VALUES
We are all about the “capital C” Church: The local church is the hope of the world, and we know we can accomplish infinitely more together than apart.
This is Jesus Church: Everything Biblical will always be part of Stone RIdge, but anything else is open to be replaced with something better.
We are spiritual contributors not consumers: The church does not exist for us. We are the church and we exist for the world.
Risk Takers: We will do anything short of sin to reach people who don’t know Jesus. To reach people no one is reaching, we’ll have to do things no one is doing.
Unapologetic evangelism: Sharing the gospel boldly and without fear.
We will lead the way with irrational generosity: We truly believe it is more blessed to give than to receive.
We always bring our best: Excellence honors God and inspires people.
Do more by doing less: People more than programs. More is not better. We want to spend energy on the best things, and not just good things.
Multiply: Being biblically informed to imitate Jesus in order to multiply gospel-centered relationships.
Live as missionaries: Living life as doers of the Word and not just hearers of the Word. We should be active in living out our faith.
No lone ranger Christians: We do faith together and avoid doing things alone when we can take others with us.
